Wellbeing

At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

We do this through:

EKIDNA (Every Kid Now Achieves) Program

Our whole school wellbeing program focuses on positive behaviour, respectful relationships and frequent positive feedback. Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards support the program, along with whole-school rewards.

Positive Living Skills

The Positive Living Skills (PLS) program is an evidence-based comprehensive mental health and wellbeing approach based on a combination of social and emotional learning, preventative mental health, resilience and life skills.

Peer Support Groups

Activities to reinforce pro-social skills are facilitated by senior students to a small group of students from all year levels.

Wellbeing Teacher

In addition to the Learning and Support Teacher, students at Uki Public School have access to a Wellbeing teacher to guide and support students, liaise with teaching staff and communicate with parents and carers.
